Vrindavan temple guide
Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir stands in Raman Reti and was inaugurated in 1975 as the first temple built by ISKCON in India.
Its three altar identities must remain distinct: Krishna-Balaram at the centre, Radha Shyamsundar with Lalita and Vishakha, and Gaura Nitai.

Identity without conflation
The central worship of the divine brothers gives the temple its name and principal identity.
The adjoining altars expand the Gaudiya devotional setting without collapsing all sacred forms into one identity.
Tradition presented with care
Raman Reti is associated with Krishna and Balaram’s childhood play in Braj tradition.
Srila Prabhupada chose the setting and personally inaugurated the temple on Rama Navami, 20 April 1975.
Temple lineage and surviving fabric
The white-marble temple was developed under A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s supervision.
His Samadhi Mandir and preserved residence form a separate memorial focus within the complex.
Built form and visitor experience
A grand white-marble arch opens toward a black-and-white checkered courtyard and the three principal altars.
Galleries of Krishna narratives, the Samadhi Mandir and community facilities create a temple-and-ashram complex.
